Hair Fall

Hair fall is a problem most of us have faced some time or the other. Recall your horror when you noticed that your pillow had been covered with hair that fell while you slept. It’s quite normal to lose about 50 to 100 scalp hair every day. However, sometimes you may lose more hair, which can be found in hairbrushes, clothing and in sink and tub drains. But what is the cause and what are the different hair fall treatments. Let’s take a look.

Hair Falling Out Causes

Hair fall can be caused by a number of factors like stress, hormones or hereditary issues. Inflammation of the scalp, an unbalanced diet, and certain medications can also cause hair loss. Other than this the accumulation of sebum in the scalp is known to block hair follicles and contribute to hair loss.

How to Prevent Hair Fall

The best way to prevent hair fall is to avoid using any chemicals on your hair. Bleaching and straightening may weaken your hair. Do not use excessive heat while blow drying or flat ironing. Do not pull at tangled hair while it is wet with a small toothed comb. Use a detangler and a wide toothed comb. Do not pull hair tightly when wearing hair up or in a ponytail. This weakens the follicle.

A stress free and healthy lifestyle can also help in reducing hair fall. Washing hair frequently with the right shampoo prevents hair from losing its strength and vitality. There are different hair fall therapy shampoos and conditioners available that are specially formulated to repair and protect the surface of hair fibers, preventing hair fall and improving the condition of the hair. Each hair care product contains a special repairing serum so that women can be confident of beautiful hair every single day.

But if your hair becomes prone to falling, here are some simple methods to treat hair fall. To start with you can see a dermatologist who will do a hair analysis and blood test to determine whether you have a vitamin or mineral deficiency, anemia, iron deficiency or an underlying metabolic problem. They can then suggest a course of treatment if there is any specific problem.

Make sure you drink at least two liters of water a day to ensure you stay hydrated. Ensure you are getting adequate B6 and zinc to build up the protein levels in the hair. This is essential for healthy hair and prevent hair fall. Foods such as fish, avocado, and nuts play an important role healthy scalp and hair. As a natural remedy, egg is excellent for the hair. It nourishes and adds shine. Whip up an egg and apply it on your hair once a week after applying oil, to keep it strong and prevent hair falls.
