A girl without lipstick is something that doesn’t happen. Whether it is on and off or regular, lipstick is something that is sure to be there in every handy bag. But one cosmetic that we take so casually, makes a lot of difference to the way we look. Whether we accept it or not, applying lipstick is an art. Making sure you get the perfect plucker needs a bit of time investment from your end. So, here are some big DON’Ts when it comes to lipstick applying.
Don’t….
Forget to line your lips
Giving a line to your lips, gives your lipstick a full and lasting look with an even spread out. It also makes sure that the lipstick doesn’t get beyond the lines. To get the perfect line, make sure you use a sharp lip liner then start from inside of the lip and gradually move outward. Select a lip liner that is as close to the lipstick shade as possible.
Choose a shade that’s too light
If we are talking about lipstick shades, you can hardly ever go too dark. However, going too light is quite possible. If you are thinking about those magazine models, then yes they look wow with frosty lips. But in real life, if your lipstick shade is lighter than your skin tone then it will make you look dehydrated and unhealthy. If you want to go for a basic shade, then go for a natural pink shade. It will make your face look lively.
Go over the border
Some ladies in an attempt to get fuller look, apply lipstick that go beyond the border of the lips. This is the instant recipe to mess the overall look you want to get. If you want fuller lips then focus on lining them properly and add a bit of glossy shine to the center of the lip.
Go black
If you are not planning a Halloween make up then black lipstick is something that never looks good. It just about immediately sucks life out of your face and makes you look pale and dead. If you want to do something dramatic with the lips then you can try dark reds to get that sexy look.
Use the wrong red
If you dare to wear red, then you should get the shade right as well. To have a clear cut edge go for pink skin tones along with blue based reds. If you have warm golden skin tone then use lipstick shade in orange toned red.
Use Outlandish or unnatural colors
Yes, bright and bold lips look great, but for that you need to get the shade right. Keep away from shades like blue, green and orange. They look great, but on fashion magazines. In reality it can make you look tacky and garish.
Go too matte
Matte lipsticks are a favorite for most ladies and can actually make you look gorgeous. But once more, they have to be done right. If your remaining make up has something with shimmery eyes and cheeks, then adding matte lipstick might bring the entire look to fall. If you want matte lips then the entire appearance has to be matte.
Forget to moisturize
When you have completed the entire look of giving yourself the perfect lipstick shade, then it is quite easy to overlook the basic maintenance that is required for the lips. Your lips should always be hydrated. This will make them look healthy and gorgeous with a basic type of touch up. For this all you need to do is drink lots of water and whenever you are not wearing lipstick apply lip balm.
Stop changing with the seasons
With changing seasons, you should also keep on changing your lipstick shades. Light and sheer shades look great in summers whereas matte and creamy shades looks stunning in winters.
