Eye Care Tips

Eye care is one of the most essential things when we talk about skin care. The skin around the eye area is delicate and thinner than the rest of the face. This area is prone to irritation caused by strong chemicals. This area also has very few sebaceous glands; so it has a tendency to dry out quickly and develop fine lines and wrinkles. Lack of sleep, unhealthy lifestyle and ageing are the factors that slow down the microcirculation in the eye area, which can cause dark circles and puffiness around the eyes.

In this section we bring simple eye care tips to help you get rid of those dark circles and puffy tired looking eyes.

Puffy Eyes

Stressed eyes and excess salt can cause puffiness. Cover your eyes with cotton pads soaked in cold cucumber water for 10 minutes regularly. If you are one of those who spend most of the time on computer then this can also lead to puffy eyes as well. While working on a computer, after every half an hour, close your eyes for a minute, move your head back and take deep breaths five times, then stand for a while. This is one of the most important under eye care tips that we need to do everyday.

Un-removed Make Up

More often than not, un-removed make up leads to dark circles and eye infection. Always remove eye make-up with a good eye make up remover or other eye care products. Wash your eyes with cold purified water before going to bed.

UV Rays Exposure

Excessive exposure to UV rays and wearing un-prescribed reading glasses lend to increase the strain on your eyes. It’s important to wear sunglasses with proper UV protection. Also avoid wearing contact lens for more than six hours in a day.

Eye Care Products

Eye creams helps us to hydrate the eye area, fight puffiness, dark circles and diminish signs of ageing. Use an eye care cream regularly to hydrate and refresh the eye area. Apply the recommended quantity and massage gently into the eye contour area and crow’s feet.

Dehydration, dark circles, puffiness, uneven skin texture, dull appearances are common signs of fatigue. To treat this, you need to use a hydrating eye cream with caffeine to stimulate microcirculation that helps in the reduction of dark circles and puffiness. Also, an eye cream should also protect the skin from oxidation factors in the external environment and have gentle exfoliation technology to smoothen out skin texture.

Eye Solutions

When we talk about healthy eye care then we will surely give you solutions as well. So here are some simple solutions for healthy eye care.

Dark circles or periorbital pigmentation can be treated by tropical applications like eye creams that contain bleaching agents. Some of them may cause dryness hence a co-prescription of moisturizer is a must. At times chemical peels derived from fruits also act on pigmentation by exfoliating the dead layer of the skin. Glycolic peel is the most commonly used under eye peel.

Crow’s feet or the lines just outside the eye socket develop due to the prominence of the orbicularis oculi muscle. Injection of Botulinum is a safe, effective and scientifically proven way of getting rid of these lines. It relaxes the muscles and smoothens the lines of expression, providing a smooth contour to the face. The desired effect develops in a week’s time and lasts for 3-6 months.

Eye lashes are a beauty statement in themselves. All of us dream of having beautiful long eye lashes. And now this dream can become a reality for you. Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03 per cent is a US FDA approved medication which can increase the length of eye lashes. It is applied every night on the upper eye lashes with a sterile applicator.
