House Cleaning Tips-Do Away with Germs
Are you a housewife who is fighting the endless battle against germs and all unclean agents in your house? Well, if you find yourself nodding, then read on….

Every homemaker out there wants to keep its house clean and spotless. We want all the tiny menaces out of our house at every cost.  But no matter how much we clean and scrub, it just doesn’t happen! Of course there are the house cleaning services available, but they also come at good house cleaning prices. But perhaps looking in some of the unlikely places can get rid of those germs. Here are some house cleaning tips to keep your home sparkling clean.

Kitchen Sink and Countertop

Most women make every effort to keep the kitchen countertops and sinks clean, but the way to do it is by water. Well water will clean mess but not the germs that are hanging around in the sink drain or in the rags, sponges, towels and scrubbers that you use. What needs to be done is to clean the counters and sinks every day with anti bacterial cleaner and twice a week with a solution of bleach and water. Make a house cleaning checklist and put in all the products that you require and then just attack your kitchen.

Chopping Boards

The chopping boards are one of the best carriers of food contaminants and germs. It should be one of the most important things to take up in house cleaning. Pathogens hide in green leafy vegetables and potatoes and make their way into the chopping board and then get transferred to your foods. Wash all your fruits and vegetables regularly. Use chopping boards made of plastic or glass as they are more resistant to germs. Also use separate boards for chopping meat and vegetables. Once your chopping is complete, clean it with hot soapy water and follow it up with a spray mixture of bleach and water. Rinse the board with hot water. This house cleaning tip will not cost you much and save time as well.

The Shower or Bath Tub

When we take a shower, all the germs that we wash off from our body don’t end up in the drain. Some of them thrive in the moist environment of the bathroom. It is important to disinfect your bathroom floor once a week and rub the sides of the shower and tub with anti-bacterial disinfectant as well. Make a house cleaning schedule around this and then start cleaning.

The Bathroom Floor

Each time you flush some microscopic specks of fecal matter gets distributed in the air and end up on the floor. Yes, it is horrible. A simple caution measure from your end can to close the lid of the toilet before you flush will take care of this problem. Also remember to mop the bathroom floor and bleach once a week. If possible, even go for professional house cleaning services at least once in 6 months.

Your Toothbrush

After you brush it is only natural for the bacteria and the different food particles to stick to your toothbrush. So once you are done brushing your teeth, clean it thoroughly with hot water. Don’t put it on the counter or pack it away in a travel case. Instead put it in a glass and allow it to air dry. This is a simple house cleaning and hygiene tip that you need to follow daily.

The Laundry

Do you know that every pair of underwear you put in your laundry has feces in it? Ewww! I know. This means, one pair of undershorts can transfer E.coli bacteria to the entire set of clothes you put in the washer. To avoid the multiplication of germs, always wash your underwear and clothes in two different sets. Also put your wet laundry in the dryer as soon as possible, so that germs can’t multiply.

Shoes

Your home shoes and your road shoes should always be separate. If you walk around the house wearing the road shoes then you are surely welcoming all the germs that are stuck to your shoes. Along with it, you also bring the usual suspects like dust, dirt and grime, not to mention some pesticide residue. It is best to remove shoes at the door and put an abrasive doormat at the door. Also remember to clean the doormat once a week. This will even make your house cleaning schedule simpler.

Follow these simple things and make a cleaner and healthier home for yourself and your family.
