Infertility Treatment

One of the major problems that is faced by couples is infertility. Though there are a number of infertility treatments available yet the myths surrounding infertility can definitely add to the stress any couple would feel in such a situation.

One of the most horrid things that happen in this situation that no matter which way you look, definitely looking for infertility treatment, you get unwanted advice about what you should be and shouldn’t be doing.

Relatives will come rushing in with their misguided comments and of course their special tip, that is definitely 100% more effectively than what the fertility specialists have to say.

If all this is pushing you against the wall and screwing up your brain big time, then check out these common myths and realities regarding infertility and infertility treatment. I am sure by the end of the article; we will have a bit more clarity of the situation and give ourselves some respite from the tension that surrounds infertility.

Myth: ‘There is always a very clear reason why a couple can’t conceive.’

There can be one or more than one cause that can lead to infertility and this can only be ruled out after proper medical investigation and then the infertility treatment can be done accordingly. Whether it is blocked tubes, or poor sperm quality or some other reason, there are different infertility treatments available and yes it is curable. Many couples go through a frustrating period in their lives when they try to conceive and are unsuccessful. This is the first sign that you may require help. For those couples who are undergoing IVF treatment, the process itself will help find answers to a number of unanswered questions.

Myth: ‘No matter what I eat or drink has nothing to do with my conceiving. After all there are thousands of people who manage to get pregnant despite of poor diet.’

Having a proper diet is very important especially when you are planning to get pregnant. Your diet should include a lot of vegetables and fruits. If your health is tip top then you will be able to fight the battle of pregnancy successfully. (Believe me it is not less than a battle). A recent study has explained how multi-vitamins can make a major difference in conception. After taking the advice of your doctor, women should start on folic acid and other multi-vitamins before they plan to conceive. But hey, that doesn’t mean you can cut out on veggies and fruits. You still have to take them.

Also when you are trying to conceive you should avoid excessive intake of alcohol and caffeine as both are linked to fertility issues. This rule is applicable to both men and women. Yes, a bit of wine, beer or espresso is not going to make you infertile, you can definitely cut down on your bozz nights to get there faster.

Truth: ‘you may not be getting pregnant because you are overweight or underweight.

It is true that pregnancy and infertility both have a relation with exercise and weight management. Women who are overweight have reduced fertility. Weight loss reached by physical activity and with balanced nutrition can increase your chances of conceiving. So, before going through a complete infertility treatment, climb on that weighing scale. On the other hand being under weight(give link to weight increase) can also create problems in conceiving. You need to maintain an optimum weight to be able to conceive naturally and carry out your pregnancy as well.

Myth: ‘If you’ve had one baby, you shouldn’t have any problems having another.’

Secondary infertility is quite common and many parents find it difficult to conceive second or subsequent times. It is naturally assumed that if you already have a kid then you will not have infertility problems. But there can be a number of reasons that popped up in the later pregnancy. Like you will be definitely much older as compared to your first pregnancy and that can mean less fertile. If you are facing challenge in conceiving for nearly a year then you should consult your doctor and may require going in for infertility treatment. Check the different infertility treatment available for women and there is sure to be a solution.

Infertility treatment is a hope for couples. You shouldn’t assume that you will not require it and there is nothing to feel bad if you reach that stage. It is one more medical advantage we should make the best of.
