Chakra Meditation

Chakra meditation is about awakening your senses in a systematic and organized way. The meaning of Chakra is to discover or search for the seven chakras in our body. The chakra meditation can be done in sitting or lying position. You need to relax, close your eyes, make your body comfortable and wear clothing that is loose and comfortable. Focus on your breathing as it slows down and deepens. Do not try to control it.

Method of Chakra Meditation

Once you are in a relaxed state start ‘Ujjayipranayam’ and carry on for some time. Now focus on your spinal passage, like the awareness of breath from bottom to the top. Spend some time to balance your inner breath pattern up and down. You need to ascend with inhalation and then descend with exhalation.

Focus on locating your chakras at this point. You don’t need to identify the exact point, but focus on the general area. Try to feel the location of each station and then mentally repeat its name as you pass by it. On your way up, mentally revise and repeat from ‘Mooldhara’ to ‘Ajna’ and then way down the reverse order once more.

Just before you complete the meditation, let go of your breath sound and relax.
